Great interview with Pac Div for XXL. These dudes stay humble / remain grounded in the midst success. Not gang, but a crew mentality goes far in the industry... keep on bros.
"Grown Kid Syndrome" coming soon..

Short Film: 'Five Feet High and Rising' by Peter Sollett
One of my favorite films is Raising Victor Vargas, by Peter Sollett - which launched the career of Victor Rasuk. In the 2000 film, Victor, a twelve year-old boy living on New York City’s Lower East Side, grows up. Little do people know, it was spawned from '5 Feet High and Rising', a 30 minute short featuring the same cast, just at the ages of 12. Brilliant piece that helped guide me toward filmmaking in the first place... enjoy good people.

"Go Get Your Shinebox" by Brooklynite Gallery
For the most part art is considered a luxury item and so when times are tough out there (economically) the art world is hit pretty hard. The Brooklynite Gallery has come up with a great idea for turning a pretty shit situation into the fuel for a creative extavaganza through an exhibition that capitalizes on the global recession. Go Get Your Shinebox!

Animated Short: "Dock Ellis & the LSD No-No"
Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No by James Blagden - based on a colorful recording by former baseball pitcher Dock Ellis, describing how he pitched a no-hitter in 1970 while under the influence of LSD. Ellis, for his part, became an anti-drug crusader before he passed away last year.
Makes me wonder about Dennis Rodman circa '96...hmmm

MTV Diary of N*E*R*D* Preview
MTV Diary of... N.E.R.D from Adrian Hylton on Vimeo.
Allegedly it aired in the UK this summer... Real World / Road Rules Challenge part 7 is more important in the US, I see.

Although it's been running since October 19th, history is being made here. Ticket prices are from $55 to $122 (the average cost of a ticket to a Broadway show hovers around $100)... enjoy!

The Next 48 hrs with Ghostface
‘The Next 48 Hours With Ghostface’ provides an insight to the day which followed the recent release of his latest album, his 8th to be exact. I think the video, which is part 3 in the series speaks for itself and with the likes of Ed Lover, Free, Angela Yee, Popa Wu, Cipha Sounds & Peter Rosenberg all making an appearance...

Trailer: Aoki

Struggle was Struggle.
Premiering at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, CA… Aoki, a new feature documentary chronicling the life of the late Richard Aoki, a third generation Japanese American who became one of the founding members of the Black Panther Party in 1966. Visit www.AokiFilm.com for more… I’d be interested in seeing this. I wasn’t previously aware of Aoki’s contributions to the Black Panther Party, so this should make for informative viewing.
